Expansion Wedge Anchors

The installation of wedge anchors is easy and straightforward, being true to size (ie. M8, M10, etc) means the bolt can pass through the pre-drilled fixture into the hole. The load is secured once the nut and washer is tightened expanding the clip against the holes surface. In Australia this method is sometimes referred to as through or true bolt.

Our range of expansion wedge anchors are commonly specified where critical fixings are required, assessed independently under ETA requirements. Wedge anchors must meet specified embedment depths and the required torque values on installation. European Technical Assessment (ETA) reports can be used to design wedge anchors in accordance with AS 5216, as referenced in the National Construction Code (NCC).

The Technical Stuff

Critical information about the assessment of each anchor can be found within the supporting documentation see Documents tab in each product page. All wedge anchors satisfy the performance requirements AS 5216:2021 as referenced by the National Construction Code.

  • WA-S3D: A dynamic loading anchor approved for fatigue cyclic loading. Stainless steel 316 (A4) grade. ETA assessed option 1 anchor – for use with cracked or reinforced concrete and in areas of seismic activity. In highly corrosive environments.
  • WA-S3: A high-performance anchor with greater flexibilty via approved variable anchorage depths. Stainless steel 316 (A4) grade. ETA assessed option 1 anchor – C1 & C2 seismic rated at reduced embedments.
  • WA-S1: Stainless steel 316 (A4) grade. ETA assessed option 1 anchor – for use with cracked or reinforced concrete and in areas of seismic activity. In highly corrosive environments.
  • WA-S7: Stainless steel 316 (A4) grade. ETA assessed option 7 anchor – for use with un-cracked or reinforced concrete. In highly corrosive environments.
