B16/7L Stud Bolts – ASTM – A193/A194
Grade B16 Studs
Able to withstand high ambient temperatures B16 studs are found in use with power station and petrochemical pipe flanges, on boilers, turbines and other pressurised equipment.
Manufactured from chromium-molybdenum-vanadium alloy steel, they are better at maintaining there molecular structure and stength under prolonged high ambient temperature exporsure than B7 material.
B16 studs are commonly bought and sold as plain (uncoated) fasteners and have no corrosion resistant properties unless coated. Kits are supplied with corresponding heavy hex A194 7L grade nuts.
