B8M/Gr8 Stud Bolts – ASTM – A193/194

Grade B8M Class 2 Studs

Similar to B8 grade however B8M studs are manufactured from superior AISI 316 stainless steel, class 2 threaded studs require a strain hardening process after a carbide solution treatment to achieve increased strength properties and reduce the potential for gailing. B8M class 2 studs can be identified with the "B8MSH" head marking. The carbide solution treatment or 'solution annealing' is required for both class 1 and class 2 fasteners. The a process includes heating fasteners or bars then water-quenching to assure maximum corrosion resistance. Austenitic stainless steel studs are not coated. Kits are supplied with corresponding A194 heavy hex grade 8M nuts.
