Round Dowel Bar Galvanised

Galvanised dowel bars are pre-cut lengths of round steel material, they are used to assist in thermal change and lateral movement in concrete slabs. One half of the dowel bar is set in concrete leaving the other end exposed to be joined to the connecting slab is poured at a later stage.

Acting as a load transfer device across the transverse joint between and old concrete and new concrete, keeping them at the same height.

Dowel bars provide concrete reinforcement and are used to assist lateral movement between adjoining slabs as one end of the dowel bar is kept free for expansion and contraction.
