SD500® Wafer 12-24 Self Drilling Screws Gr316 Stainless Bi-Metal

Torx wafer head SD500® self-drilling screws are an ideal fixing for thick 12mm steel section such as purlins and hot-rolled steel. Used by builders and façade installers for exterior and cladding application the bimetal stainless steel has excellent corrosion resistant properties. A torx recess drive also provides increased amount of positive drive, reducing cam-out and damage to screw heads. Wafer head screws are also more aesthetically pleasing with their very flat head design at only 3mm high.

SD500 screws are a self drilling screw featuring an extended (no. 5) drill point for drilling through steel up to 12 mm. Designed to cut its own mating threads into the material to fasten securely in one action. To ensure effective installation the drill point must be completely drilled through the joining material.

Ruspert coating is a high-grade metal surface technology that prevents surface corrosion. Consisting of a baked ceramic surface coating and a second metallic zinc layer, these layers are bonded together through chemical reactions producing
a strong coating film.
