Wing Tip SD Screws Torx Drv Bimetal 302 Stainless
Ideal timber-to-metal self drilling screw.
Bimetal screws have a high-corrosive resistance and are preferred material type in coastal and other corrosive environments. These winged tip self-drilling screws are capable of fixing timber to steel battens in decking and cladding applications.
Made from 302 series stainless steel with a heat treated hardened drill tip for the purpose of drilling into steel – up to 6.0mm thick.
Our torx head bimetal screws have a single layer zinc plated surface coating therefore will not appear to have a typical stainless steel look. This is simply part of our manufacturing process ensuring a high level of corrosion protection, whilst ensuring drilling performance is maintained.

Other features include a winged tip, this clears a hole in the timber surface to enable the countersunk head to sit neatly flush. The torx drive allows maximum pressure to be applied during installation without cam out or damage to the screw head and driver bit.
A pilot hole can be used in the surface to help center your screws however is not necessary. For best practice allow the full tip and a few threads to protrude through the steel – this will increase the life of your structure.

CORROSION RESISTANCE
Austenitic stainless steel 300 grade with Zinc Plated coating. Series 300 stainless steel provides adequate corrosive resistance, whilst the zinc plated coating ensures an aesthetic consistent surface appearance during storage, transportation and installation.
