Nylon washers are mainly used in sealing applications such as water, oil and compressed air environments. They are also used as an insulator between screw / bolt heads when clamping glass, similar materials or dissimilar metals.
When using nuts against nylon, it is recommended to use flat washers to prevent break or tear to the nylon surface.
