Hex Lock (Jam) Nut Gal Metric Class 4 AS1112.4
Lock nuts (or thin nuts) can be used with AS1252 bolt assemblies for a tighter fit in there application, acting as a lock between the full class 8 hex nut and structural washer.
A suitable lock nut to be used with AS1252 structural bolts are AS1112.4 galvanised lock nuts with a material property class 4. The total strength of this assembly is applied through the large class 8 hex nut, therefore a matching class 8 lock nut is not required.
- Hot dipped galvanised
- Lock nuts or jam nuts should be assembled between the washer and full hex nut
- Finger tighten the lock nut against the washer first
