6 x 1.0mm MC Intermediate HSS Tap

Metric coarse 6.0mm HSS hand taps are general purpose drill taps suitable for hand and machine operation and are suitable for production use also. Intermediate taps perform similar a taper chamfered tap by slowly removing material in the thread starting with the smallest diameter portion of the tap. In a blind hole application, an intermediate tap can be used following a taper tap to get closer to the bottom of the hole.

An intermediate hand tap can be used to start thread without the use of a taper tap with the aid of a guiding centre or through fixture. A lubricant must be used in all application to ensure the integrity of the threads and material removal.

HSS hand taps are suitable for use in aluminon, brass, copper, and steel.
