Danger Signs and Signboards

When a particular hazard is present or a condition is likely to be life threatening hazardous signs warn of this danger. Under the current Australian standards these DANGER signs are classed as a subdivision under the generalised heading of hazard signs. The other sign type, WARNING is commonly recognised by the black triangle and yellow background.

Danger signs describe the immediate hazard that is likely to threaten life or action to avoid, such as HIGH VOLTAGE, OPEN PIT, OVERHEAD POWERLINES, and KEEP OUT. The word danger appears in white letters within the red oval, which is enclosed in a black rectangle. Text must be black on a white background.
